Because of the amount of work that needs to be done, the Board will break with past tradition by continuing to meet during the summer months.  Dates and times will be determined at the June 30 meeting.

Website Maintenance:

The United for Diversity website needs updating.  Georgiann said her assistant, Jeanne, will help Jack Braun with this.  Current pictures, such as those from CELEBRATE CommUNITY 2008, will be added.  Bill said he would make sure “We Welcome Diversity” information is up to date, and Carol will check links and provide Jack with United for Diversity meeting dates and minutes.

CELEBRATE CommUNITY 2009:

A steering committee needs to be formed to plan the February 28 CELEBRATE CommUNITY event, which will be held at the Fond du Lac Fairgrounds. Georgiann has prepared packets for each committee chair and will hold an information session at the Fond du Lac Public Library, 3:00 p.m. , Thursday, May 15.  The Board agreed that at this point first priority should be given to grant writing; second priority should be booking entertainment.

Comprehensive Countywide Diversity Initiative (CCDI):

Scott reported that the CCDI has formed crews to address issues such as housing, community education, communication and networking, recruitment and retention, and organizational development/training.  At the last small-group CCDI meeting, discussion centered on the CCDI’s definition of inclusiveness.

The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 30, at Georgiann Froemke’s.

Respectfully submitted,
